Uvita
|
Rancho Pacifico has not, unfortunately, lived up to its description in my book. There is a nice villa for guests, but the rest does not yet exist. It is still just a construction site at this point in time (March 2005). There is no pool, restaurant, club house, security, staff, etc. I apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused you.
Whales and Dolphins Eco-Lodge – This new luxury resort high above the shores of the Marino Ballena National Park near Uvita was mistakenly left out of the printed edition of my book. Please see their web site at www.whalesanddolphins.net.
Centro de Creación de La Costa - This business no longer exists, and neither does the Flamingo Restaurant and their associated cabinas. Both properties were purchased this year and are not only closed, but literally demolished. There may be a new hotel built in their place some day . . . . .

Black Turtle Lodge – The lodge was sold in mid-2004, and the new owners are Nico and Meggie Zimmerman - siblings from Berkeley, California. Nico has extensive background in hotel and restaurant management, and Meggie, already a local to the Osa Peninsula, is a studying massage therapist and will continue to coordinate more yoga and health retreats. The Zimmerman´s establishment in the area is strongly supported by their connection with a well-respected local costa rican family.
